About FindAWindowPro
FindAWindowPro explains window costs, products and installer questions and helps readers request quotes. Who we are, what we do and what we are not.
FindAWindowPro is a website about replacement windows: what shapes the price of a project, how window types, frames and glass differ, and what to ask an installer before you sign anything. Alongside the articles, readers can request quotes from window companies through our form.
What we are, and what we are not
FindAWindowPro is a lead-generation service. When you ask for quotes through our form, we pass your request to window companies, and they pay us. We explain that arrangement in plain terms on our page about how we make money.
We are not a contractor, an installer or a manufacturer. We do not sell windows, we do not measure or install them, we do not set prices and we do not do the work. A company that contacts you after a quote request is a separate business, and the price, the product and the terms come from that company.
When an article names a window manufacturer or a product line, it does so only to report facts, such as a published specification or a product rating. We are not affiliated with the manufacturers named. We do not rank window companies or tell readers which one to hire. Questions about a specific contract, warranty or installation belong with the company that made the window or did the work.
What we write
Each article answers one question, such as what changes the cost of a window project, how to read a window's energy label, or when repair may make more sense than replacement. We work from official sources first: federal energy programs, product rating bodies, building code text and state licensing boards. Where the official record is thin, we use published cost surveys and manufacturer pages, each attributed by name and date. Every figure is cited and labeled; our methodology page explains how.
Who writes and reviews
Articles are written by Erin Maddox (FindAWindowPro Editorial) and reviewed for accuracy by Cole Ramsey. Both are pen names used by our editorial staff, who research window costs, products and installer questions. They do not hold themselves out as contractors or tradespeople, and nothing on this site is a quote, a bid or legal advice.
Errors and contact
If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We correct confirmed errors and list them, with dates, on our corrections page. Our privacy policy explains what we collect when you use the site.
